Compasse — Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Compasse (“Compasse,” “we,” “us”) is a voice-friendly companion app for an older adult, set up and managed by a family member (the “caregiver”). This policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it, and your choices. Questions or requests: Aidan@revisesolutions.com.

Compasse is not a medical device, a safety-monitoring service, or an emergency system. In any emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) directly.

Who this policy is for

By using Compasse, the caregiver confirms they are authorized to provide the resident’s information and that the resident is aware the assistant listens and records when spoken to.

What we collect

You provide:

Collected automatically:

We do not collect precise location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and we do not use the information for advertising or sell it.

How we use it

Who processes your information

ProviderPurposeWhat they handle
SupabaseHosting, database, authentication, file storageAll account/care data and voice recordings, stored securely and tied to your family’s account
OpenAISpeech-to-text, assistant responses, text-to-speechAudio and text submitted to generate a response. Per our agreement, this is not used to train their models and is retained only transiently for abuse monitoring
Expo / Apple PushPush notificationsThe caregiver’s device token and notification text
SentryCrash reportingTechnical error/diagnostic data (no voice content)

Only your family’s account and the Compasse team can access your family’s information.

How it’s protected

Information is stored with our service provider (Supabase) with access controls (row-level security) so one family cannot access another’s data, and is encrypted in transit. Service credentials are kept server-side and are never shipped in the app.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active and for the duration of the trial. You can ask us to delete it at any time (below), and we delete trial data when a family leaves the program.

Your choices and rights

Children

Compasse is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Recording notice

The assistant records audio only when the resident speaks to it (e.g. taps to talk). Caregivers choose what phrases and messages to record. The caregiver confirms the resident is aware of, and consents to, this recording for the purpose of using Compasse.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Compasse evolves. We’ll post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date above.
